It is the client's responsibility to let Lucy know if you have had Permanent Makeup done by someone else prior to scheduling.
If you've had Permanent Makeup previously done and fail to let Lucy know, she reserves the right to refuse service and may recommend removal and you will forfeit your booking fee for the lost appointment time.
The Microblading 3D Hairstoke look technique will not work well on dark, solid, mis-shaped, mis-colored, or carbon-based pigments.
General Rules for ALL Procedures:
Remember, no two sides of the face are the same. Perfection is our goal, but, note that nothing is PERFECT. We do not use the “P” word when doing Permanent Makeup. Sisters, NOT twins is used universally in this field.
-PERMANENT MAKEUP WILL NOT BE PERFORMED IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR NURSING!!!!
NOT CANDIDATES FOR PERMANENT MAKEUP
-Heart Conditions/Pace Maker/Defibrillator (No exceptions)
-If you are any of these medications, you will bleed and the pigment WILL NOT retain)
-If you "keloid" scar, you need to ask your doctor (raised scarring)
-Skin irritation/ Psoriasis near treated area

IF YOU ARE ON THESE MEDICATIONS:
(Any other medical condition not notified ahead of time, Brows By Lucy will not be held liable.)
-Absolutely No Sun, sweating, or tanning prior to the procedure or after the procedure for 10 days. Do not have a tan/sunburn on your face prior to your procedure. The tan will exfoliate taking color with it as it fades. If you show up to your appointment with a sunburn, you will be required to reschedule and your deposit will be forfeited.
-Do not work out the day of the procedure as the body heat expands the pores. It is recommended not to sweat (heavily) for the first 10 days after the procedure. Sweat is salt and can prematurely fade the treated area.
-IF YOU USE BOTOX, IT SHOULD BE PERFORMED EITHER 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED PROCEDURE OR 2 WEEKS AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE.
-Do NOT take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 24-48 hrs prior to your procedure.
-You MUST be off Retin-A or Retinols for 30 days prior to your appointment and avoid using on or around the area for 30 days after. If used before 30 days, it can cause the pigments to fade prematurely. If you resume the Retin-A or Retinols after the 30 days, please know that the continued use will fade your permanent makeup prematurely.
-You must be off "lattise/rapid brow" or any hair growing serum for a minimum of 4 weeks, no exceptions.
-You have to be off Accutane for 1 year. NO Exceptions!
-If you have oily skin, your results WILL appear softer (eyebrows can look solid) in appearance and may require additional procedures at an additional charge.
-Avoid alcohol or caffeine prior to the procedure, this will minimize any oozing or swelling after the procedure.
-Avoid power shakes and power greens, Fish Oil, and "Hair, Skin, Nail" supplements 24 hours prior to procedure, causes blood thinning and heavy bleeding!
-Getting a procedure while on your menstrual cycle can make you hyper-sensitive at the procedure site.
-If there are any blemishes, pimples, active cold sores, irritation of the skin of any kind, moles or other skin imperfections in or around the area of the procedure, Lucy WILL NOT be able to do the procedure until the blemish or area of concern is gone or the mole is removed and healed.
-No swimming until the area is completely healed, salt water/chlorine can cause the pigments to fade or change in color. It is recommended to apply the Vaseline to the treated area/s prior to swimming even after healed to prevent the chlorine water/salt water from penetrating the area.
-Only touch the treated areas with squeaky clean hands. This is a must..we do not want an infection. Apply Vaseline ONLY during showering with a Q-tip. BLOT off Vaseline with a tissue after showering gently, do not rub or wipe off!
-Come to your appointment with your eyebrows penciled the way you like them (optional) if you like & bring your eyebrow pencil with you.
-If you get your eyebrows waxed or tinted, please have this done at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled procedure. It is recommended to wait at least a week to have them waxed after the procedure.
-Regular makeup can be worn immediately after your procedure, just not on the treated area until healed. Absolutely NOTHING on brows!
-The eyebrows WILL appear bolder immediately after the procedure..this is common in all Permanent Makeup applications…it will begin to soften up after a few days. Hair strokes appear crisp and bold at first, but will soften up as the tissue heals.
-It is very common to have areas fade more so than others. This is part of the healing process and will be treated at the recommended follow up appointment.
-Clients with darker skin (Indian, African American, Filipino, etc.), Please know that the Hair Strokes WILL NOT appear as defined or as dark as lighter skin types due to the skin color already being naturally darker.
-No skin tags or moles can be present on eye area. Skin tags will have to be removed by your doctor prior to any PMU eyeliner service.
-No lash extensions can be present during an eyeliner procedure. Must be removed 2 weeks prior to eyeliner appointment.
-Must stop use of any lash growth serum 4 weeks prior.
-NO conjunctivitis (pinkeye). Clients with a history of Pinkeye may be at higher risk for infection. Advise discussing with your doctor about taking antibiotics prior.
Now that we've done our part, it is up to you to take good care of your brows so they heal properly and keep their color. Aftercare accounts for 50% or more of your end results.
FINAL RESULTS ARE DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY HOW CLOSE YOU FOLLOW AFTERCARE DIRECTIONS
There is no down time for Permanent Makeup, however, the area may be red and tender and we recommend that you do not plan any special event afterwards. This is not a quick fix beauty treatment and you have to be prepared to endure all the healing stages of PMU. Please note that your brows will appear 30%-40% darker and more intense than expected for the first few days. They may also appear thicker in shape but this is completely normal as the excess pigment is sitting on top of your skin. They will gradually shrink/fade during the healing process.
Dry Heal After Care Instructions...
Avoid direct water on the treated area for 10 days after the procedure. Apply the Vaseline prior to showering only to prevent soap and shampoos from getting on the treated area. Absolutely NOTHING on the treated area. No makeup, lotions, pencils… etc. for 10 days. Apply Vaseline ONLY before showering, remove after showering. After the 10 days, avoid scrubbing the treated area for 1 month.
No swimming until the area is completely healed, salt/chlorine water can cause the pigments to fade or change in color. It’s recommended to apply Vaseline to the treated area(s) prior to swimming even after healed to prevent the chlorine/salt water from penetrating the area.
For 10 days ONLY touch the treated area with squeaky clean hands to apply the Vaseline before showering. This is a must… we do not want an infection. Use a clean tissue or DRY terrycloth to blot them dry to remove the Vaseline when waterproofing them for showering.
DO NOT RUB, SCRATCH, OR PICK AT THE TREATED AREA, let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off… picking can cause scarring.
Make sure to schedule your follow up with in 6-8 weeks.
Please read second page (for eyebrow procedure) “healing schedule” before you panic during the healing process. I cannot tattoo on your skin again before 6 weeks of healing.
After Care Instructions...
Day of treatment: Absorb
Gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 15 minutes until oozing stops.
Day 1-7: Wash
Gently wash your brows each morning and night with water and antibacterial soap. Very gently rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 sec. and rinse with water ensuring all the soap is rinsed away. To dry gently pat with a clean tissue.
Day 1-7: Moisturize
Apply a rice grain amount of After Ink ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to apply too much as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should barely be noticeable on the skin.Never put ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.
Try to limit showers to 5 minutes so you do not create too much steam. Keep your face out of the water. Avoid hot water on the treated area.
Day 1-2 -The eyebrows are approximately 30% to 40% darker and bolder in width than they will be when healed. Your skin is red under the pigment which causes the color of the pigment to appear darker. There is some swelling, although difficult to see due to the thickness of the skin in the eyebrow area. This will subside. Exfoliation, which begins in a few days, will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow procedure to flake away and a more narrow appearance will result. New skin will heal over the pigmented area and results in a softer appearance of your eyebrows. Don’t be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear darker and heavier in size than you desire. This is all part of the process.
Day 3-5 - Eyebrows will start to itch and will appear a bit thicker in texture. Natural exfoliation begins. DO NOT exfoliate yourself!
Day 5-7 - The skin begins to flake, peeling outside edges first.
Day 7-10 - Color finishes flacking off and appears softer and more grey for a few more weeks until color clarifies.
I wanted to explain a little more about the healing process!
After the pigment is implanted, the body needs to do its job and repair itself. Tiny flakes of excess pigment will form on top of the skin and underneath the skin will retain pigment… When the crusts come off at that point the area may look very light (a milky mask effect) and you may wonder “where did the pigment go?” However it does take 4-6 weeks for the cells to regenerate. Then the pigment will return to the surface of the skin and look more definite. This is explained on the aftercare and I ask people not to panic and let the body do its job!
Pigment Lightning/Removal After Care...
It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring and to achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
1.KEEP AREA CLEAN and open to the air. Do not cover with Band-Aid or anything else, leave open to air. Air/Oxygen provides good and faster healing. You should not be touching the area at all but if you find yourself needing to please make sure your hands are exceptionally clean.
2.DO NOT SOAK the treated area in water. You can shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray the best you can and do not let the area stay wet for more than a few minutes. It is best to keep it dry but if you do get it wet gently pat dry.
3.NO BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING, OR EXERCISE. NO EXCEPTIONS
4. DO NOT disrupt the scabbing process (i.e. no picking, scratching, etc.) All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep these scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results.
5.TREAT AREA WITH TLC. DO NOT DO ANYTHING AT ALL THAT COULD CAUSE ISSUES OR PROBLEMS TO THE TREATED AREA.
6. ONCE ALL SCABBING HAS NATURALLY FALLEN OFF, apply one drop Vitamin E Oil 3 to 4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until next lightening session. DO NOT start applying Vitamin E oil UNTIL all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off. It is our goal to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off.
It is important to the process and integrity of the skin that 8 full weeks of healing take place before another lightening session can be done. No exceptions.
Lightening and/or removing unwanted pigment is a long process and patience is required. This is true whether you are choosing a product or laser. Please be patient and give the process a fair chance to work. Expect visible and wanted results in 2 to 5 sessions. How many sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted and how much needs to be removed for the desired result. In many cases only a percentage of the pigment needs to be lightened/removed and then we can continue the correction process by color correcting or color shifting. In those cases where we have pigment misplaced or in an unwanted area, Olof correcting will not be an option and removing as much of the pigment as possible will be our ultimate goal.
Results cannot be foreseen, predicted or guaranteed.
If you have any questions or concerns please email us. If at any time you have any green or yellow puss in the area of the removal, or any concerns at all during the healing process please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
